Welcome to Galway's Online Computer Club, or GCC for short.
Galway Computer Club began in January of this year and is growing daily.
There are over 100 members so far, ranging from beginner to expert.
We create positive online experiences through chat room/shoutbox, games, forums, using the most up-to-date and creative technology. We offer free technical advice and encouragement, and provide a vibrant online atmosphere so members can share ideas, collaborate, learn and play together.

The site is filled with information, entertaining activities and endless networking possibilities.
Check out what we have on offer:
Shoutbox: A communal live chat area. From here members can notify others of a new forum post or simply say hi, ask a question or share a joke or link.
Forums: A database of user generated content for discussion broken down into different categories. Games, music, graphics, art and lit, current news and events, computing tips and tricks, web development, creative writing, tutorials, swap shop and information about the site itself are open for discussion and input from all members.
Profile Pages and blogs: Each member can create their own little corner of cyberspace. Blogs, articles, forums posts, game scores and stats specific to each member. For design, avatars, sigs and templates chosen either from the extensive gcc collection or uploaded and customized at home. Add pages, edit info, upload images to a personal gallery and show off the latest audio creation
Chess: Make a move a day or if you find an active player, battle away the evening. Discuss specific games, general strategies and victories in the forums and brush up on your openings and game play with the available resources.
Arcade Games: Enter Asylum Utopia, an online high score league of all your old favourites like Asteroid, Invaders and Pacman, plus all the groovy new ones we come across. Combined with the shoutbox announcer and members profiles, scores do not go unnoticed. If you play, you better play to win :)
Online Multiplayer Teams: Underworld, Open Arena Beyond The Red Line, Anarchy Online, Serious Sam and Cube 2. Be a fighter pilot in a spaceship cockpit, a mercenary on the planet of Rubi-Ka, a warrior or vampire in the depths of underworld. Whether you're fighting alongside a member or locked in combat, its all virtual so no one gets hurt :)
Tutorials: Instruction, resources and information (with pictures!) on various aspects of home computing. Starting with the basics and leading...well, to whereever you want to go.
Creative Collaborations: A little Chaos in order? We provide cross collaboration platforms for music making, video production 3d and creative writing.
